Vinegar Hill is a neighborhood located in the borough of Brooklyn, NYC. The neighborhood gets its name from the historic Battle of Vinegar Hill, which took place during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. Vinegar Hill was originally settled by Irish immigrants, and has maintained its 19th-century look. Vinegar Hill is on the East River waterfront, sandwiched between DUMBO and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
