Details of Experience:

Mr. Favors was admitted to The Phoenix Rehabilitation & Nursing Center after staying at NYP – Cornell.

Mr. Favors has had a history of strokes, but it was not a severe one. His left side had weakness and he was not balanced when he walked.

When I went to see him for my New Admin Evaluation, he said, “ I am still young, I am going to do whatever it takes to recover as soon as possible, so I can go home.” Because of this, he motivates himself to work extra with the rehab department.

He attended PT and OT 5 days a week. In the beginning, he practiced with a walker, and our therapist worked side by side to support him. He also special requested with the Director of Rehab that he would like to have double timing for his therapy.

They worked on his shortness of breath and then he was able to do the stairs exercise (4 flights up).

Before he discharged, the therapist walked side by side with him without any device, but they still recommended him with a rollator.
