Details of Experience:

Mr. Centeno was admitted to The Phoenix Rehabilitation & Nursing Center after his Left leg below knee amputation, he was very weak overall. After our therapy did the evaluation, we decided to put him on therapy 6 days a week; PT and OT. Also, our PT massages his legs 15 minutes a day because they are swollen.

Mr. Centeno is very positive and very self-motivated. He knows he has to listen to the therapy and work with them in order to get his strength back. He also goes to dialysis twice a week, every time when he’s back from dialysis, he still insisted going to the therapy no matter how tired he is.

After he received his prosthesis, he started practicing exercises including walk on a walker. He worked on his balance very well. At the end, our therapy helped him graduate with a wide base Qual Cane.

Mr. Centeno loves our facility; rehab, nursing, and our recreation department. He said once he settled everything back home, he will be a volunteer in our facility twice a week.
